Extraction and filtration of grinding titanium powders

Extraction of powders and chips derived from titanium particulars grinding, with the aim of decontaminate the workplace environment and protect the operators with a safety system.

Solution

Centralized extraction plant formed by powder extractor on every single grinding station, with 100 mm diameter suction arms, galvanized piping network with circular section, cartridge purifier located on top of the roof and simple centrifugal extraction fan.

Design

Sizing of the exact speed of air, both during the powders catching and within the extraction ducts, with consequent calculation of total load losses depending on the filter piping path.

Design of the cartridge filter according to average size of powder particle, concentration and overall plant capacity.

The simple extraction centrifugal fan has been selected taking into consideration the overall plant capacity and the load losses of the connected systems.
